Welcome to my heart and mind world, I’m Christina L. Glancy. The L is important because there’s another Christina Glancy in the world running a muck. I don’t want to be associated with that energy or problems. I’m happy you’re here with me. I have a lot to share with you regarding strategies to find your value from the inside of your heart and mind and use that intuition to guide you on your career path.

Who is Christina L. Glancy? 

I’m an honest and healthy connector and professional boundary setter. I help people build healthy inner relationships that propel personal and professional evolution. I live by a life mission to operate from a place of love and move with integrity and authenticity in everything that I do. If it’s not creating a version of me towards elevation or transformation, I gracefully bow out. It’s not in alignment.

I have a personal mantra of changing the world one conversation at a time. I put those to great use with my official titles which are the CEO/Founder of At First Glance Solutions, a strategic management firm that elevates small businesses and DC Program Manager for a gender equity focused social impact incubator.

Where’d you start?

Before my corporate career, I worked in service based roles in the food service and hospitality industries. All of these roles required me to serve people first. My career journey started way before I knew what a career or doing business meant though. I was shaped for business by the family I was born into. I am from a LARGE multi-hyphenate family. Some of those hyphens include loud (in personality and tone), creative, competitive, talkative, emotional, multicultural, and multi-generational. I had to learn to become creative with my communication styles to survive conversations (but seriously) and hold my own weight in them.

This year marks 16 years in the workforce. My first job was a server at the zoo in my hometown. I moved on to healthcare through college then on to civil engineering. I am currently in in tech. My career journey has been full of adversity and many -isms. I actively chose to extract the lessons from those experience to help me practice being human first and professional second. This does not mean that I act a fool. It means that I try to understand first as a human then as a professional. Throughout these 16 years I have served hundreds of thousands of people. Whether it was pouring a pop, taking a patient to an appointment or preparing a business plan, I always find a way to humanize the experience. These roles taught me that the outcome of serving someone is not about me. It’s about using what I know to help better humans evolve better. That’s my sweet spot. I know how to help people be better people.

Where are you going?

To the top! I am ambitious and adventurous. I actively seek growth that works for me. As I continue to venture through the world, I’m noticing that doing business and being human are not mutually exclusive. I want to do my part in bridging that gap. I don’t agree with that ultimatum.

To combat that I am on a journey to challenge everyone that I encounter professionally to do two things: 1)  find a way to connect their humanness to their profession and 2) make a living while doing it. If you’re reading this, that means you, too.

While on this journey with me, my hope for you is to find direction in your purpose and learn strategies to apply to your professional journey. Work should work with your lifestyle, not run it. 

So buckle up and get ready to learn how to be human while doing business with me. Let’s go be great on purpose.
